Roger Ricort has introduced stricter daily rules at OGC Nice with head coach Olivier Pantaloni, including clocking in on arrival, squad meals and a ban on speaking English, according to L'Équipe.

Ricort has returned as sporting director 17 years after leaving the same role, and his arrival has had an immediate effect on players’ routines.

The language restriction is designed to ensure every member of the squad develops basic French.

He is also holding individual meetings every morning, beginning with senior players.

Ricort said he does not favour grand announcements, adding that if change is needed it should start with mentality.
