There’s one name that would make everyone happy at Trigoria: Joshua Zirkzee.
The Dutch striker has long been in Gasperini’s sights, having wanted him in Bergamo a couple of years ago. Manchester United is planning to sell him in mid-January, when the Africa Cup of Nations is drawing to a close and Diallo and Mbeumo will return.
However, the financial aspect cannot be overlooked: the initial asking price is €50 million, a figure too high for the Giallorossi’s coffers. The Friedkins have given the green light to the deal, but a discount will be needed to complete it.
There’s no shortage of “Plan Bs,” however. Among the players being closely followed, Corinthians’ Yuri Alberto is a favorite, while Giacomo Raspadori, currently at Atletico Madrid, is also on Lazio’s radar.
Furthermore, Gudmundsson and Ekhator have recently been offered. The former is keen to leave Florence, while Massara is highly regarded by the latter. Another option could emerge thanks to the synergy between Everton and Roma, with the Friedkin-owned clubs currently evaluating a Beto-Dovbyk swap.
Finally, Il Messaggero reports a new possibility from the United States: Marco Pasalic, a 2000-born right-back from Orlando City. A year ago, the player was close to joining Hellas Verona before choosing MLS.
Pasalic has been offered to Roma and is currently being evaluated. This season, the Croatian is having the best season of his career and so far, after 34 games, he has scored 12 goals and 5 assists.
