Roma and Juventus are on the prowl for a left-back and have taken an interest in a familiar face, Matteo Ruggeri, who could depart Atletico Madrid after just one season. They’d have to be ready to spend, though, as the Colchoneros will eventually seek to obtain more than the €17M they invested to acquire him from Atalanta, Marca reports (via Tuttomercatoweb).
The defender played a lot in 2025/2026, notching 47 appearances and tallying 6 assists. However, he could still be sold to make room for a different kind of specialist, for instance, Marc Cucurella, Maxi Araujo, or Alejandro Grimaldo.
Roma and Juventus would have to be willing to shell out €22/25M, add-ons included, as Atletico Madrid start from a €28/30M valuation. The Giallorossi plot to add a new man of the wing regardless of the outcome of the negotiation with Zeki Celik, whose contract expires on June 30th. The 24-year-old fits their MO and is familiar with Gian Piero Gasperini.
The Old Lady is already negotiating for Alexander Sorloth and Nicolas Gonzalez with Los Rojiblancos. They are trying to secure the striker before the start of the World Cup, but their offer has been a few million short of the request so far. The two deals could proceed separately. They are earmarking fullbacks in case they sell Andrea Cambiaso later in the summer.
He’s solid but not spectacular, so it’ll mostly come down to his price tag. He makes a little more sense for the capital club, as he’d balance out Wesley’s aggressiveness pretty well, while the Bianconeri would need somebody more offensive-minded if they parted ways with their star.
