Roma make contact for Milan’s Christopher Nkunku, Gasperini keen | OneFootball

Serie A side Roma remain in the hunt for a major attacking signings and have attempted a move for Milan’s Christopher Nkunku.

Daniele Longo has reported that the two clubs have an excellent working relationship and they could look to exchange some players this summer.

This has led to Roma’s interest in Nkunku becoming very clear. Gian Piero Gasperini is a fan of his profile and has requested for his signature. This has led to Giallorossi sporting director Tony D’Amico stepped forward for the Frenchman and he asked Milan about a possible signing, making several contacts about a deal.

Gasperini also wanted to sign him last January and is said to be obsessed with his profile. But Milan, for now, have rejected Roma’s advances. Ruben Amorim’s side feel Nkunku will become an important player and they are ready to start next season with him in the side.

Move anyway complex

Even if Milan were open to Nkunku’s sale, Roma’s move wouldn’t have been easy. It would have cost a significant amount and Milan may not have been open to loans, as they would ideally want to immediately cut their losses after his failures from last season.
