Evan Ferguson’s performances continue to displease Gasperini, who once and for all raised his voice in front of the cameras, declaring that he “always” prefers Dybala as a false nine rather than the Irishman as an attacking point guard.
The former Brighton player, after his disappointing appearance in Turin against Juventus, is increasingly moving towards a return to England in January.
The sensational news, as reported by Luca Marchetti of Sky Sport, is that of a sensational swap deal that would bring Lorenzo Lucca, Napoli striker who arrived in the summer from Udinese for over €30 million, to the Giallorossi.
According to Marchetti, a swap deal between the two players is being considered, but through a special mechanism. Ferguson could return to Brighton on loan and then be sold to Napoli under the same terms.
This would allow Lucca, currently an Azzurri player, to join Roma. Negotiations are still being finalized, but the idea of a swap seems to be gaining traction, with clubs interested in finalizing the deal as early as January.
Gian Piero Gasperini has been all too clear with Sporting Director Massara: he wants four or five high-quality reinforcements to enhance the Giallorossi squad. The top attacking target remains Zirkzee, but at Trigoria, they’re also pushing for other targets, including Raspadori.
