Roma continues to work to strengthen Gian Piero Gasperini’s midfield, the central element of the new coach’s system.
With Manu Koné already established as a key player for next season, the Giallorossi management is now aiming to find the right player to partner him: Lens’ Neil El Aynaoui.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, talks between the two clubs have resumed in recent days after an initial stall in negotiations.
Roma, who had already made a €20 million offer, rejected by the French club, have decided to renew their focus.
The Giallorossi are ready to present a new offer of €22 million plus bonuses of up to €25 million.
Interest in El Aynaoui remains high, but Roma refuses to give in to what they consider excessive demands.
Work is also underway on other fronts, such as the move for Richard Rios, for whom a change in the deal is being considered. The goal is clear: to provide Gasperini with at least one international midfielder quickly.
