Negotiations have stalled between Roma and Feyenoord for the Rotterdam club’s 20-year-old right-back Givairo Read.
Despite some initially positive talks, the team from the Italian capital seem reluctant to match Feyenoord’s hefty valuation. The Giallorossi have reportedly seen several bids turned down, with the highest being 29 million euros plus a 10 per cent resale percentage.
With Feyenoord asking for in excess of 30 million euros, Roma are said to have switched their focus to Atletico Madrid’s Argentina international, Nahuel Molina.
Of course, as previously reported, Nottingham Forest are also tracking Read. They too have failed to match the Feyenoord fee several times, yet could come back with Roma turning away.
The Amsterdam-born Read, who previously enjoyed interest from Manchester City, is under contract with Feyenoord until 2029. In recent seasons, his performances have seen him become a major prospect in both Rotterdam and the Dutch national team’s set-up.
