Roma are hesitant to meet Juve’s demands for Weston McKennie.
The American midfielder has long been rumored as a potential target for the Giallorossi given his fit to Gian Piero Gasperini’s playing style.
The recent halt in McKennie’s talks for a new contract with Juventus prompted Roma to make inquiries for him.
However, according to Tuttosport, there are no plans for a swap deal with Bryan Cristante, a suggestion denied by Roma.
Juventus also denies interest in the Giallorossi midfielder and reiterates that, if they were to sell McKennie, they would only do so for a cash offer of at least €25 million. A significant sum, considering the player’s contract expires at the end of the season.
Juve’s financial demands temporarily put a damper on negotiations, but McKennie remains a player of interest.
Roma remains vigilant, ready to seize any opportunities in the coming weeks of the transfer window.
