Liam Rosenior has spoken about recent criticism of Alejandro Garnacho's form in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

"I've spoken to all of the players," the Chelsea manager said after being asked about the Argentinian.

"I don't know where the criticism comes from. Garna had a difficult half against West Ham but he showed some really bright moments coming on against Arsenal."

Garnacho was one of three players hooked at half-time with the Blues 2-0 down at home to the Hammers before going on to win.

The Chelsea manager also gave an update on Jamie Bynoe-Gittens who had to be replaced due to injury 26 minutes into that game describing his injury as more 'long-term'.

"He's got a tear in his hamstring which is a real shame for him," Rosenior said.

"I’ve not had the chance to work with him for long but I know about his career and what an outstanding player he is, so it’s a big loss. It’s too early to say how long he will be out for right now."

Rosenior also responded to criticism after the midweek defeat to Arsenal in the second leg of the semi-final: "The noise doesn’t surprise me at all. What other teams do has nothing to do with me.

"What people say outside the club makes no difference to my decision making. In hindsight, we didn’t go through so there are always things you can do differently, but that was a very, very solid performance against a team very good at home."
