Unai Emery has a lot of options to work with as Aston Villa prepares for Nottingham Forest on Saturday. While speaking with reporters, the manager discussed two players who are working themselves back from injury.

While maybe not as important compared to other teams, the Spaniard having his full array of options would help for the remaining months of action to close out the season. For the most part, everyone is healthy throughout the squad.

Being able to rotate throughout the roster is allowing players to stay fresh while fielding a competitive side. It also doubles as a benefit, with others having missed action with their injuries and not feeling any pressure to necessarily return too soon.

That being said, those with AVFC will want to play and make a case for themselves, especially with the number of important matches coming up. Two notable names are nearing being cleared to suit up again, and the boss shared some optimistic news.

Good attacking options for Aston Villa are close

Leon Bailey will undergo a fitness test before Villa face Forest to determine if he is match-fit. The Jamaican international has not made an appearance for his club since the most recent break. Emery told reporters, however, that the midfielder is close to resuming regular first-team activities.

Ross Barkley, meanwhile, is also dealing with a setback that has forced him to miss a number of games. He is closer than Bailey, though, as Emery shared that he may be part of the selection against Forest.

Either way, it looks as if the Spaniard will have everyone as healthy as one can be at the point of the year within the week. With the FA Cup, Champions League, and remaining Premier League matchups, Emery will have the full roster available as things stand at the moment. Aston Villa will welcome Bailey's and Barkley's return. The boss will now have the added challenge of how to manage everyone's minutes.
