Among the players named on the bench by AC Milan for the final Serie A match of the season against Cagliari were the young Rossoneri talents Lorenzo Torriani, Matteo Pittarella, David Odogu, Jacopo Sardo, Valeri Vladimirov and Cheveyo Balentien. Alongside them was Davide Bartesaghi, born in 2005, who featured throughout the 2025/26 campaign and once again started at left wing-back in the 3-5-2 system. Sardo, Vladimirov and Balentien in particular have benefited from their experience with Milan Futuro, much like Alex Jiménez and Bartesaghi before them. That is exactly the aim of a project focused not on results or league standings, but on the growth and development of AC Milan’s youngest and brightest talents.
The Rossoneri’s focus on youth had already become clear a year earlier during the club’s 2025 summer friendlies, when young midfielder Emanuele Sala was involved in the first team’s pre-season preparations. The 2007-born talent particularly caught the eye in AC Milan’s 1-1 draw with Leeds in Dublin on 9 August 2025. He started that match, delivering an impressive performance and also providing an assist for Santiago Gimenez. His displays during the training camp convinced the Club to officially extend his contract. There has also been strong interest abroad in the Rossoneri’s young talents, highlighted by Ajax’s investment in winger Maximilian Ibrahimović, who gained valuable experience in the Netherlands from January 2026 before returning to AC Milan.
