Rui Costa not ruling out new Benfica futsal goalkeeper signing

Benfica are not ruling out recruiting another goalkeeper for their futsal team. According to Glorioso 1904, the board led by Rui Costa are studying whether to move for a new option for the 2026/27 campaign.

The position may need fresh blood in 2026/27, with Léo Gugiel and André Correia not offering complete assurance between the posts.

Gugiel has not matched expectations. The Brazilian remains important for coach Cassiano Klein and is under contract until 2027, yet his inconsistency is causing concern.

Correia is regarded as the number two in the hierarchy. The Portugal international has not convinced when called upon.

With the futsal season only at the halfway point, Benfica are already weighing up market moves. Reinforcements in other areas are also being considered to offset some significant departures.
