According to Glorioso 1904, Rui Costa’s Benfica are monitoring the contractual situation of Brazilian winger Cléber Souza, who is playing in Saudi Arabia, as they plan for next season.
Benfica are among several suitors for the right-sided player, who is approaching the end of his deal with Al Qadisiya, with Barcelona in pole position.
Even so, Barcelona have not made a move yet, with any approach dependent on how Cléber’s contract situation unfolds. Al Qadisiya must first decide whether to offer him a new deal.
The tense climate in the Middle East, amid escalating conflict involving countries such as Iran, could be a factor in Cléber opting to return to Europe. He left the continent in 2024 after a spell with Spain’s Palma Futsal.
Benfica plan to monitor developments closely as they already know they will lose two key players from Cassiano Klein’s squad. Diego Nunes will return to Palma, while Higor de Souza has agreed a contract with Barcelona.
