Ryunosuke Sato reported to Paterna as Valencia CF began day two of pre-season at 9:00. He was confirmed at midday as the club’s latest signing. According to Superdeporte, he worked separately rather than at full tempo.
The Japanese player arrived on Monday after a 24-hour trip involving two flights and a stopover. He trained apart due to fatigue and stress from the transcontinental journey that brought him to Valencia about 24 hours earlier. Yohan Gainche, one of his agents, was seen at the training centre this morning.
He completed his medical yesterday afternoon and said on arrival that he was very happy and comfortable playing as a No 10 or as a winger. Over the next few days he will look to shake off jet lag, with Japan and Spain five hours apart. This is not viewed as a concern in his first week at Valencia.
The squad worked with the ball this morning and will return to the pitch this afternoon. Carlos Corberán has scheduled double sessions through to next Monday, except on Wednesday, before the team travel to Girona to continue pre-season.
Valencia will face Petro de Luanda, the Angolan champions, on 18 July. Guido Rodríguez, Corberán’s priority addition, is already on the grass, and both his renewal and the head coach’s were confirmed on Monday, keeping them at the club until at least 2028. Justin De Haas also trained with the group as he builds rhythm.
