Sad news: Orlando Pirates team involved in a car accident!

A shadow of concern has fallen over the Orlando Pirates community following a distressing incident on Sunday night. The club confirmed that a motor vehicle accident involved members of its travelling party on the R21 highway.

The team was en route from Gqeberha, their spirits high after a convincing 3-0 win against Chippa United. Their journey took a tragic turn when they came upon an initial collision.

Demonstrating immense character, Head Coach Abdessalam Ouaddou and several players exited their vehicle to render aid to those involved. It was during this act of compassion that another vehicle, a Nissan NP200, lost control and ploughed into the scene, striking the parked cars and causing significant injuries to the Pirates' contingent.

Coach Ouaddou and five staff members sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a medical facility for urgent treatment. The club has assured supporters that the affected individuals are under professional care and that their recovery is the absolute priority.
