Lens beat Auxerre 1-0 at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis to rise from second to first in Ligue 1 and extend their league winning run to eight.

In the 65th minute, Wesley Said finished from Malang Sarr's pass to break the deadlock for the leaders.

Donovan Leon made six saves to keep Auxerre in reach. The visitors, however, failed to register a shot on target.

Pierre Sage turned to his bench after the breakthrough, with Morgan Guilavogui and Ruben Aguilar adding fresh legs, while Mamadou Sangare drew another stop from Leon late on.

Lens registered 19 attempts, seven on target. Auxerre produced five efforts without testing Robin Risser.
