FLW rounds up the latest transfer news regarding Sammie Szmodics as interest ramps up in the forward.
Sammie Szmodics' future at Ipswich Town has been up for debate over the course of the last few days, with several Championship clubs showing an interest.
Derby County are one of those looking to bring the forward in before Monday's transfer deadline, with John Eustace looking to reunite himself with the Republic of Ireland international after coaching him during his time at Blackburn Rovers.
Szmodics, 30, left Rovers in August 2024, joining Ipswich in a deal worth a reported £9m, but after scoring just five league goals in a year-and-a-half, he has fallen down the pecking order at Portman Road.
Football League World has rounded up the latest news regarding the 2023/24 Championship Golden Boot winner, as clubs look to bring in the hotshot before the January transfer window comes to an end.
The Rams were the first side to table an offer for Szmodics, but EADT reported on Wednesday that their bid was rejected by Ipswich.

The Tractor Boys are open to letting the 30-year-old leave the club this month, but they have a price that must be met if a move is to work, and so far Derby have not yet reached their valuation.
With Carlton Morris recovering from injury, Eustace is looking for another forward to help take the pressure off Patrick Agyemang, who has only scored twice at Pride Park, with his six other strikes coming on the road.
However, they are facing a battle for the services of Szmodics, and they will have to work quickly in order to bring the forward to the East Midlands.
While it has not been reported how much Derby offered Ipswich for the player, Football Insider have revealed that Wrexham are set to come in with their own bid.

According to their report, the Red Dragons are preparing a £5m offer for the former Peterborough United man, as Phil Parkinson looks to win a fourth successive promotion. The club's heavy spending has shown no sign of slowing this month, as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney continue to pour money into the Welsh outfit.
Nevertheless, this would also fall just short of Ipswich's £6m valuation, and they may be asked to come in with an improved offer before the transfer window slams shut.
Alan Nixon said on Wednesday that Stoke City are also monitoring the situation involving Szmodics, but they have not placed a bid so far.

However, the Stoke Sentinel has since revealed the Potters' stance, with it unlikely that Mark Robins' side will pursue a deal for the 30-year-old, with his substantial fee a concern.
Yet, while he has been linked with a move to Stoke, the report has also stated that the Potters have not had Szmodics on their shortlist at all this month and, therefore, they can be all but ruled out of a move for him before Monday.
Robins has one space left in his 25-man squad to fill, and at this moment in time, their next signing is likely to be a loan.
