San Lorenzo have settled all outstanding debts and are waiting for FIFA to lift registration bans before announcing reinforcements for the 2026 Torneo Apertura. According to SuperDepor.com, the club completed 14 pending payments on Monday, 11 of them in recent days.

There has been no official communication, the board is waiting for the payments to be reflected in FIFA’s system, as the organisation’s website has not yet updated. Only after that formal step will the club make announcements.

The interim administration that took charge in December vowed to stabilise finances after the leadership vacuum that ended Marcelo Moretti’s tenure. First it cleared overdue wages for employees and the first-team squad, then moved on to the bans.

In parallel, the club moved in the market and sealed the arrival of midfielder Mauricio Cardillo, a free agent from Independiente Rivadavia. On Monday, forward Gregorio Rodríguez, from Melgar and formerly at Instituto, completed his medical. Both will be presented once the administrative issue is resolved.

Head coach Damián Ayude wants further additions, and talks are under way for Gonzalo Abrego of Godoy Cruz and Jonathan Torres, currently at Cerro Porteño.
