Santos were fined R$ 2,000 by the Second Disciplinary Commission of the TJD for delaying the second half restart during their 1-0 defeat to Palmeiras at Arena Barueri in the Paulistão on 14 January.
According to Diario Do Peixe, the hearing was held on Tuesday, 27, and the commission ruled unanimously, issuing the same R$ 2,000 penalty to Palmeiras.
Marcelo Trevisan de Góes represented Santos at the hearing. Referee João Vitor Gobi noted in his report that both teams were late returning, which delayed the restart by two minutes.
Both clubs were charged under article 206 of the CBJD, which punishes delays to the start or restart of matches. The rule allows fines of R$ 100 to R$ 1,000 per minute.
Santos had already been fined R$ 2,000 for a similar delay in the opener against Novorizontino.
Further incidents have been noted in subsequent rounds and the club may face more fines. In Campinas against Guarani, referee Matheus Delgado Candançan reported both teams delayed the restart but did not specify the duration.
Against Red Bull Bragantino, referee Daiane Muniz recorded a one minute delay to the restart, caused by Santos arriving three minutes late.
