Santos have been fined R$ 3,000 by the TJD’s 3rd Disciplinary Commission for delaying the second-half restart in the 18 January draw at Guarani in the Paulistão, at the Brinco de Ouro da Princesa in Campinas.
According to Diario Do Peixe, the commission delivered a unanimous verdict on Wednesday 28 January, with Guarani fined R$ 1,000.
Marcelo Trevisan de Góes represented Santos at the hearing. Referee Matheus Delgado Candançan noted in his match report that the restart was delayed because both teams returned late.
Both clubs were charged under article 206 of the CBJD, which covers causing delays to the start or restart of matches. The penalty is a fine of R$ 100 to R$ 1,000 per minute.
Santos had already been fined R$ 2,000 for a restart delay in the opener against Novorizontino and another R$ 2,000 in the clássico with Palmeiras. In later rounds the team were again late to restart and could face further punishment. Against Red Bull Bragantino, referee Daiane Muniz recorded a one minute restart delay due to Santos returning three minutes late.
