Santos loanees: João Paulo at fault as Bahia concede four

João Paulo endured a difficult cameo as Bahia were thrashed, conceding four after replacing the injured Ronaldo while his side led 1-0.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the Santos goalkeeper is on loan at Bahia until June 2026, with an obligation to buy by Grupo City at the end of the deal.

He entered before the interval and errors contributed to the first two goals, finished by Vitor Bueno and Gabriel Taliari, before Bahia shipped two more.

Another Santos loanee, Bernardo Paias of Amazonas, came on in the second half of the Campeonato Amazonense final with his team trailing 2-1 to Nacional, and finished runners-up.

In total, 10 of Santos’ 17 loanees played this weekend: João Paulo, Luisão, Hayner, Kevyson, Nathan, JP Chermont, Patrick, Bernardo, Caballero and Tiquinho Soares.
