São Paulo are first to reach 400 wins in the Brasileirão points system

São Paulo defeated Chapecoense 2-0 at Canindé, in the 5th round of the Brasileirão Betano, on Thursday (12th), and took the lead in the competition, now with 13 points. The goals were scored by Luciano and Calleri.

With this result, São Paulo became the first team in the history of Serie A to reach the milestone of 400 victories in the era of the round-robin format (since 2003). The São Paulo team now has one more victory than Flamengo.

The triumph over Chapecoense put the Tricolor back at the top of the Brasileirão Betano after four years. The last time was in the 1st round of 2022.

Only São Paulo, Flamengo, and Fluminense have participated in all editions of the Brasileirão since 2003.

Also on Thursday (12th), six more teams took to the field, and these were the results of the matches: Remo was defeated by Fluminense (2-0) at Mangueirão, in Belém (PA); Vasco came from behind to beat Palmeiras (2-1) at São Januário, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ); Grêmio and Red Bull Bragantino ended in a draw (1-1) in a match held at Arena do Grêmio, in Porto Alegre (RS). The last match of the 5th round of the Brasileirão Betano will be on March 29th, between Athletico-PR and Botafogo, at Arena da Baixada, in Curitiba (PR).
