São Paulo prosecutors add Osmar Stabile to Corinthians security probe | OneFootball

São Paulo state prosecutors have added Corinthians president Osmar Stabile to a criminal probe into alleged irregularities in the hiring of a security company. The move was ordered by prosecutor Cassio Conserino.

The case file cites two reasons, testimony from ex-administrative director Fábio Soares that the emergency hire came from the president, and documents showing that Fernando José da Silva, owner of the firm, was also a club employee. Sports Insider reported last month that Fernando’s company worked without federal authorisation or a contract, issuing three invoices totalling R$ 676,6 mil.

Prosecutors noted a contradiction. On 23 May 2026 Fernando signed a Military Police request as the club’s operational manager, which conflicts with Corinthians’ claim he worked only between September and October 2025.

Conserino expanded the order and asked the club for the 23 May letter, other documents signed by Fernando, and the personal details of Lucas Apolinário and Edson Rodrigues. Corinthians has 10 days to respond.

With his status formalised, Stabile will be questioned on 23 June at 11:15, and has access to the files. Fernando will be heard by videoconference on 15 June.

Stabile has said the episode followed an invasion of the presidential floor on 31 May 2025 by supporters of ousted president Augusto Melo. He said he asked Fernando to reorganise security, denied ordering the company’s creation and called it an administrative error. He initially announced Fábio Soares’s suspension, but the director resigned days later after councillors and members sought his precautionary removal.
