The Lazio starting lineup is set for a major shake-up ahead of Monday’s clash against Cremonese, as Maurizio Sarri is already thinking about the double-header with Inter Milan.

Lazio Already Planning for Inter Milan

The Biancocelesti have been enjoying their best run since the start of the season, but their main focus has long shifted to the Coppa Italia, which represents their only possible path towards European football.

Sarri’s men will play Inter in the final on May 13, which will be preceded by a dress rehearsal between the two clubs in the shape of a Serie A fixture four days earlier, which will also be played at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

But before locking horns with the Italian champions-elect, Lazio will travel to Cremona for a league fixture on Monday (at 18:30 CET). According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Sarri will rotate his lineup, as he could make up to six changes to the starting XI that played out the thrilling 3-3 draw against Udinese.

New Attacking Trident for Lazio

The Aquile could take the pitch with a completely different attacking trident. Matteo Cancellieri will be serving a one-match ban, paving the way for Gustav Isaksen’s return to the starting lineup. Mattia Zaccagni should regain his spot as well, dropping Tijjani Noslin to the bench. Moreover, Daniel Maldini’s last-gasp equalizer against Udinese should buy him back a starting berth at Boulaye Dia’s expense.

Nicolo Rovella Set for Cameo Against Cremonese

In the middle of the park, Danilo Cataldi and Kenneth Taylor are both suffering from the flu. Therefore, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru could get the nod, joining Toma Basic in the box-to-box roles. Patric will act as a Regista once more, while Nicolo Rovella is expected to put some minutes in his legs after recovering from a shoulder surgery.

Nuno Tavares & Adam Marusic Back in Lazio XI?

In the full-back slots, Nuno Tavares and Adam Marusic are tipped to reclaim their usual starting roles from Luca Pellegrini and Manuel Lazzari, while Alessio Romagnoli and Oliver Provstgaard should keep their places, as Mario Gila’s availability remains doubtful.
