Premier League football tips and predictions

15:00 - Leeds v Arsenal: Back hosts with handicap

Mark O'Haire: Leeds are W5-D4-L2 at Elland Road and come into this clash following a run of one loss in 10 (conceding two stoppage-time goals at Newcastle). The Whites rank fifth on xP over the last eight games and seventh over a 12-match sample, with Daniel Farke's troops also rated fourth in the home xP standings. They're no easy meat.

Yet Leeds are priced as significant outsiders here and there's opportunity to get the home side onside in the Asian Handicap - Leeds +1 pays 1.99 and requires Arsenal to win by multiple goals for our selection to lose. Even a one-goal margin of victory for the Gunners would see our stake returned, a strong position to start the game from.

Arsenal head to West Yorkshire having tabled two triumphs in six away league dates. The Gunners boast only a 50% win-rate across their last 20 away league outings, while only three victorious during that same sample came by two goals or more - at Burnley, Ipswich and Leicester - two relegated teams and another destined for the same fate.

15:00 - Brighton v Everton: Back Toffees to avoid defeat

Mark Stinchcombe: I can't have Brighton here at 9/10. They have failed to win nine of their last 10 Premier League matches. With Everton three points higher than the Seagulls in the table, should the home side really be odds-on? Everton have a good recent record on the south coast too, having avoided defeat in their last five visits across all competitions. Seven of Everton's last eight league games have gone under 2.5 goals, which shows their resolute nature, and they boast the fifth best defence in the league.

Brighton, on the otherhand, have kept just six clean sheets in their last 35 Premier League matches. Obviously there is no Jack Grealish for Everton, but both Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are back, while summer signing striker Thierno Barry seems to finally be adjusting to life in England with four goals in his last five games.

15:00 - Wolves v Bournemouth: Back defenders to dominate

The Opta Stat:

Between May and December, Wolves conceded in all 11 of their Premier League home games, conceding 26 goals in total. They've since kept a clean sheet in their last two at Molineux, their longest run since a four-game streak in April/May 2023.

17:30 - Chelsea v West Ham: Go against goals with at 6/4

Dave Tindall: While Chelsea's increased goal power is making headlines, it's fair to note that 11 of the 16 have come away from home. When Chelsea beat Brentford 2-0 and Pafos 1-0 in back-to-back games at Stamford Bridge, there was hardly a feeling that we were watching 1970 Brazil.

So after the high of Naples, I have a feeling that this could be a more lacklustre affair with Chelsea maybe struggling to go through the gears. In which case the goal quotes could be too high. Over 2.5 is just 1/2 so that leaves some value in Under 2.5 at 6/4...

Chelsea have scored five more goals on the road than they have at home while West Ham have shipped seven fewer goals on their travels than at the London Stadium. Also, this is a quick turnaround for the Blues - they played Wednesday night and now here on Saturday evening. They surely would have had more spark with a Tuesday-Sunday sechedule.

20:00 - Liverpool v Newcastle: Back Wirtz to sparkle

Kevin Hatchard: The Match Odds market on the Betfair Exchange feels like one to swerve here. Liverpool are way too short at 1.85 - they have won just four of their last 13 top-flight matches, and they might fail to win any of their first six league games of a calendar year for the first time since 1954. The last time that happened, Liverpool went on to be relegated. That said, Newcastle's away record is very poor, with only three away victories all season.

Florian Wirtz came to Anfield from Bayer Leverkusen with a hefty price tag, but those who have watched him develop in Germany knew he would deliver for Liverpool. While the goals and assists took a while to arrive, they are now coming with regularity. Wirtz has been involved in a goal in six of his last ten competitive appearances, including in four of the last five games at Anfield. I'll happily back Wirtz to score or assist at 11/10.

EFL tips and predictions

15:00 Championship - Middlesbrough v Norwich: Back goals at the Riverside

Jack Critchley: Norwich did Middlesbrough a huge favour on Monday night, but that may be where their generosity ends. Philippe Clement has transformed the Canaries, aided by some savvy January additions. Having taken just nine from 15 previously, they've since bagged 24 in their subsequent 14 under the Belgian.

They've scored seven times in their last two away games, and although they've rode their luck at times, they have enough quality for get on the scoresheet here.

15:00 L1 - Bradford v Doncaster: Back Bantams in 13/1 acca

Alan Dudman: It really is not an obvious one to go with Bradford here following a dreadful performance in midweek at Lincoln, but better teams have been seen off by the Imps.

The Bantams worryingly didn't register a shot on target until the 56th minute on Tuesday - their only effort of the night. Their xG on Saturday with a paltry 0.16, one of their lowest ever recorded since 2019.

It's three straight losses now for Graham Alexander's men, but those defeats were against Cardiff, Huddersfield and Lincoln. All three of the heavy-hitters.

Bradford's home record of nine wins and just 12 conceded in 13 games keeps me interested and I will take a scrappy 1-0 here.

17:30 Bundesliga - Hamburg v Bayern Munich: Back Kane goal to bet builder

Kevin Hatchard: One bright spark in a difficult season for Hamburg has been on-loan Tottenham centre-back Luka Vuskovic. The 18-year-old Croatian is a man mountain, he plays with great passion (he once punched a goalpost after missing a chance and damaged two of his fingers) and he is really comfortable in possession. He is also a threat at set plays, scoring three goals and having at least one goal attempt in 15 of his 19 games for club and country.

Bayern were undone by a set play in their shock 2-1 home defeat to Augsburg last weekend, a reverse that ruined their chances of an unbeaten Bundesliga season. They bounced back by winning 2-1 at PSV to secure second spot in the Champions League, as Harry Kane fired home a well-struck winner.

Kane has rattled in 21 Bundesliga goals and has scored a further 13 across the Champions League and DFB Pokal. In 127 games for Bayern he has scored a staggering 120 goals, and the England captain is thought to be in contract talks with the club. In the reverse fixture, Kane scored twice in a 5-0 win, and I'll double up a Kane goal with a Vuskovic shot at 13/10 on the Bet Builder.
