Saturday's international friendly best bets include 10/3 draw for USA v Belgium and Japan to hold Scotland at Hampden

Paul Higham has picked out his best bets for Saturday's slate of international friendlies, including a 23/10 Scotland stalemate against Japan and a 10/3 scoring draw as World Cup hosts America face Belgium.

South Korea v Ivory Coast Tip - Back the home underdogs

South Korea's warm-up for an 11th straight World Cup this summer starts in Milton Keynes of all places against African qualifiers Ivory Coast, who are 13/10 favourites after making the African Cup of Nations quarter-finals.

South Korea are 21/10 and have lost just twice in 19 games under returning boss Hong Myung-bo, with their eight wins in the last 11 games all coming with a clean sheet and it's that defensive organisation that can get the job done here.

Senegal v Peru Tip - Senegal to be too strong

Senegal's players, coaches and fans will all still be reeling from having their African Cup of Nations title stripped as they now have to try and focus on their World Cup preparations starting at the Stade de France as big 2/5 favourites against Peru.

If you count their victory on the pitch against Morocco it's now eight games without defeat, winning seven, and they're still planning to parade the trophy ahead of Saturday's game - and could yet head to the World Cup as African champions depending on their appeal.

With that fire in their bellies they should be far too strong for a Peru side who ended their eight-game winless streak in December but just don't have the firepower to keep pace.

Scotland v Japan Tip - Back the draw at Hampden

There'll be a celebratory mood at Hampden as Scotland run out for the first time since their dramatic win over Denmark sealed a first World Cup in 28 years, but Japan are the 5/4 favourites to spoil the party despite 21/10 Scotland winning three in a row at home and losing just once in seven overall.

Japan are going to the World Cup for an eighth straight tournament and they've won six of nine since booking their place in the line-up, including beating Brazil, so they should have enough if they're disciplined, but with England at Wembley coming up they may not field their full team for the full 90 minutes. All things being weighed up this one looks like a draw to me, which both teams will be happy enough with.

Hungary v Slovenia Tip - Hosts hungry to make amends

Hungary suffered final-game heartache against Ireland so these are the types of games they could do without. The hosts are 4/5 favourites though despite just three wins in 12, as Slovenia went through their full six-game World Cup qualifying campaign without winning a game.

Slovenia did draw four of those games and if both sides are feeling a bit down on their luck then the draw here would be a distinct possibility - Hungary had three in a row at home recently as part of a run of just one win nine on their home turf. Whoever takes it a bit more seiously will win this one, and that's muh more likely to be Hungary wanting to give their fans something to shout about.

Canada v Iceland Tip - Back another Canadian clean sheet

World Cup co-hosts Canada are big 11/20 favourites against an Iceland side that won't be playing this summer and have lost eight of their last 12 games with their only two clean sheets in that time both coming against Azerbaijan.

Jesse Marsch's hosts have only lost once in 90 minutes in 14 games and have kept seven clean sheets in their last 10 outings so you have to think the chances of the struggling visitors finding the back of the net are pretty slim.

USA v Belgium Tip - Back a free-scoring stalemate in Atlanta

The USA are taking their preparations for a home World Cup seriously knowing this is a huge summer for them, so expect Mauricio Pochettino's side to be at full speed as 21/10 underdogs against Belgium - who have thrived since Rudi Garcia took charge with six wins and three draws since he lost his first game as head coach. The second-best scorers in European World Cup qualifying are 6/5 to win in Atlanta.

The Red Devils have been smashing goals in but that's been against lesser opposition than they'll face here, and the Stars and Stripes certainly won't be treating this as a friendly as they've been intense in recent so-called warm-ups. If this was a competitive fixture in a tournament you'd back the Belgians all day but given the circumstances this has score draw written all over it to me.

The visitors are free scoring with 3+ goals in six of nine and the USA have scored in 11 of 12 so expect a fast start from the hosts but the Belgian quality to ensure they don't lose the game.

Back International Acca in Betfair Sportsbook offer

We need three legs in an Acca to take advantage of Betfair's Bet £10 Get £10 offer on the Sportsbook, and if you want to take a punt on a big one then a combination of a Scotland draw with Japan, score draw in USA v Belgium and Canada win to nil over Iceland comes in at a whopping 35/1 treble.

6/1 mark.
