While the summer transfer window is closed in most of Europe, clubs in Saudi Arabia are still trying to poach players from the continent, given that the window is open until September 23 in the country.

As has already been reported in the past, Saudi Arabian teams have taken an interest in budding talents from La Masia in recent times. And, it appears that they are weighing up a late move for one of Barcelona’s most talented young prospects.

Marc Bernal on Al-Nassr’s radar

Indeed, according to Saudi-based outlet Okaz Sports, Al-Nassr are interested in Barcelona midfield prodigy Marc Bernal and are weighing up a late move for the youngster.

Bernal, considered one of the best talents to come through La Masia in recent years, made his first-team breakthrough under Hansi Flick last season.

However, just three games into the campaign, an ACL rupture sidelined him, and it has been over a year since the teenage prodigy played for the Catalans.

Having fully recovered, Bernal is expected to make his comeback into the squad this weekend when Barcelona take on Valencia after the international break.

As his return inches closer, it appears that Al-Nassr have taken a liking towards the 18-year-old midfielder and are considering the possibility of making a late move for him.

The Saudi Arabian giants already signed Inigo Martinez from Barcelona this summer, but are unlikely to be successful in their endeavours this time out.

After all, Hansi Flick and Barcelona see Bernal as an integral part of the club’s plans for the present and future and will not consider his sale – more so given the recent injuries to midfielders Gavi and Frenkie de Jong.
