Milan legend Dejan Savicevic is confident that coach Sergio Conceiçao will ‘help’ Joao Felix to settle in at San Siro and trusts Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Santiago Gimenez: ‘If Ibra says he’s strong…’

New signings Gimenez and Joao Felix are expected to make their debuts, although they’ll likely start on the bench.

“Milan are a great team, wearing a patch on their arm with seven Champions League titles. Got it? Seven,” Savicevic told Gazzetta.

“Milan is history. I am extremely proud to have been part of one of the best teams in the world, and so will the new signings.”

The Rossoneri welcomed five new players in the January transfer window, including four on the deadline day.

“They have strengthened the squad. I’m sorry they sold Ismael Bennacer, I liked him,” said Savicevid.

“Sottil? I remember the name; his father was a good player.”

The Rossoneri already won the Supercoppa this season, but they are seven points below the top four in Serie A and failed to reach the Champions League Round of 16, qualifying for the knockout playoff instead.

Red Bird advisor Ibrahimovic admitted on Tuesday that the club were “not satisfied” with results in the first part of the campaign.

“They have already won a trophy. Now there’s the Coppa Italia and a Champions League spot to secure. They will do it—they have to,” Savicevid argued.

“There’s a coach. Sergio seems like the right man, especially for João Félix.

“He [Joao Felix] is a great talent and needs to be brought back to his best. I’ve seen him in action and how he moves, dribbles, and contributes to the game. The player is there.

“At Milan, you can’t be sad or sulk. Conceição will help him integrate,” continued Savicevic.

“They’re both Portuguese, speak the same language, and surely share the same footballing philosophy.”

Joao Felix has joined the Rossoneri on loan from Chelsea, while Gimenez has completed a permanent transfer from Feyenoord.

“I don’t know him well,” admitted Savicevic.

“I’ve seen he scores a lot, consistently. Then, there’s Ibrahimović’s word. If Ibra says he’s strong, then he is strong.”
