Atalanta and Italy can breathe easier after Giorgio Scalvini scored the winner in a 1-0 victory on Saturday evening against Roma and former Dea head coach Gian Piero Gasperini, then departed in the second half.
He started alongside Berat Djimsiti and Sead Kolasinac and put Atalanta ahead after 12 minutes amid numerous Roma protests. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday, his 59th-minute withdrawal was precautionary, cramp rather than a new injury. Kolasinac also went off before full-time, with no major concerns reported.
The 22-year-old has endured an injury-hit beginning to his career, missing over 50 games across the last two seasons.
His medical record includes a cruciate ligament tear and a dislocated shoulder.
He has also had adductor and hamstring injuries. Last season he played 274 minutes across six Serie A appearances. This term he is up to 348 league minutes, with five appearances, only two since mid-September.
