After yesterday’s celebration at Trigoria, it’s already time to plan for the future at Roma.
The Giallorossi’s priority is to quickly identify a new sporting director to replace Massara, with D’Amico currently appearing as the most likely candidate.
Meanwhile, Gianluca Scamacca’s name is gaining traction in the corridors at Trigoria, with Tuttosport citing him as one of the main targets for strengthening the attack.
The Atalanta striker would be a particularly welcome prospect for Gian Piero Gasperini, who shared successful years with the Roman striker in Bergamo, culminating in the 2024 Europa League title.
The coach is closely monitoring his former club as he builds a new Roma, evaluating Scamacca’s possible return to the capital after his time in the Giallorossi’s youth teams.
The 1999-born striker, tied to Atalanta by a contract running until 2027, has racked up impressive performances under Gasperini: 19 goals and 8 assists in 45 appearances.
This performance makes him one of the ideal prospects to lead Roma’s attack next season. With the likely departures of Dovbyk and Ferguson, Roma will need to intervene decisively in the transfer market to secure two top-tier strikers ahead of their league and Champions League fixtures.
