Schicker's proposed switch from Hoffenheim to Wolfsburg in jeopardy

After VfL Wolfsburg sacked Sebastian Schindzielorz as sporting director, TSG Hoffenheim’s managing director for sport, Andreas Schicker, has emerged as the top candidate to replace him.

However, Kicker now reports that the 39-year-old’s proposed move to the Volkswagen Arena is in jeopardy.

According to the German football outlet, officials from both clubs left a four-hour meeting on Wednesday without coming to a clear decision.

The uncertainty comes amid a power struggle at Hoffenheim between the club’s management and influential agent Roger Wittmann.

Kicker reports that it is “highly doubtful” that the management will give the green light for Schicker to depart the club, describing the 39-year-old as the last remaining opponent to Wittmann’s influence.
