Ramovic pips ex-Bucs boss in Algeria

Sead Ramovic guided his CR Belouizdad team to a convincing 3-1 victory over Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic's ES Setif in the Algerian Ligue 1.

The Chababists broke the deadlock three minutes after the hour mark, thanks to Youssef Laoufi, before Lofti Boussouar doubled the lead in the 76th minute.

Micho's side was given a lifeline five minutes from time, with Akram Djahnit converting from the spot, prior to Mohamed Hammouda's goal that put the game beyond reasonable doubt in stoppage time.

As a result, Ramovic's men climbed to seventh on the Algerian topflight standings, having picked up 20 points from 12 league outings.

Belouizdad will return to action with a clash against MC Oran in their penultimate match of 2025 on Monday, 29 December.

Meanwhile, Setif dropped to 13th with 15 points from 13 league outings and are currently six points clear of the relegation zone.

Micho, who was appointed last month, will be eager to steer his charges back to winning ways when they square off against log leaders and defending champions, Rulani Mokwena's MC Alger on 29 December.
