Sean Dyche says Nottingham Forest have held talks with Oleksandr Zinchenko about his future at the City Ground after a frustrating loan from Arsenal.

According to NY Times, the Ukraine international has started only four Premier League games and was one of three players taken off at half-time in the FA Cup defeat at Wrexham last week.

He was then replaced by fit-again Ola Aina in Forest’s Europa League squad on Wednesday. Dyche said he has discussed expected minutes with the 29-year-old now that Aina is back, adding the situation has been made clear and that they will see what happens, while praising Zinchenko’s professionalism.

Zinchenko cannot face his parent club when Arsenal visit the City Ground on Saturday.

Forest cannot cut short the season-long loan in January, and Arsenal have a full squad quota. Any change would likely need a third club. He has not played for Arsenal this season, so he is still eligible to join another team.

Forest will be boosted this weekend by the return of Ryan Yates from a hamstring problem, with Ibrahim Sangare and Willy Boly back from the Africa Cup of Nations. Dyche said Yates has trained all week and feels good. John Victor remains out after a minor knee operation and there is no timescale yet.
