Authorities will deploy a security operation on the Champs-Élysées on Tuesday night for the 2026 World Cup fixtures France v Senegal at 21:00 and Argentina v Algeria at 03:00, following violence around the PSG v Arsenal Champions League final in late May.
According to L'Équipe, two CRS companies will be on duty for France v Senegal, with mobile resources available. The Brav-M motorised unit could be activated to support officers if trouble arises, and a further CRS company is due on the avenue at around 04:00 for Argentina v Algeria.
France, Senegal and Algeria are on a list of teams whose matches will receive particular monitoring by public authorities during the tournament, which runs from 11 June to 19 July.
That vigilance will intensify from the knockout phase, beginning with the round of 32.
The operation spans late Tuesday and the early hours of Wednesday.
