Seko Fofana has been left out of Rennes’ 21-man squad by coach Habib Beye for Saturday’s derby at Lorient at 17:00, and could leave during the window.
Ouest-France reports that Porto and Benfica have enquired about a loan.
Unless a late injury emerges, the omission is a selection call that could push the 30-year-old towards an exit, a year after his €20m move from Al-Nassr.
He is under contract until 2029 and lost his starting place in the autumn, including being dropped at Toulouse in the 2-2 draw on 29 October. He also suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty in November.
After returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, he came on in stoppage time in the 1-1 draw with Le Havre last weekend. As new signing Sebastian Szymanski joins the squad, Fofana drops out. West Ham also asked about him weeks ago but have not followed up.
