Fran Escribá’s arrival at José Zorrilla has revived Sergi Canós, who has scored and helped a Real Valladolid side emerge from a deep crisis, while batting away firm talk on his Valencia future.

The winger from Nules is on loan with Valladolid until the end of the season and there is no purchase clause. Valencia do not plan to use him next season, when his deal is due to end, and are prepared to ease a departure.

"I am honestly not thinking about next year. Right now I am really enjoying my football. I cannot wait for Saturday to see José Zorrilla like it was against Huesca, it gives me goosebumps because we have not given the fans the joy they deserve this year, and I think the other day was a relief for everyone," he told Cadena SER Valladolid.

After three straight starts, the Castellón-born player said he is eager to feature again this weekend. "We are a great side," he added, looking ahead with confidence.

Weeks earlier, after scoring his most special goal and dedicating it to his mother, he underlined Escribá’s impact. "The coach has given me confidence and the match helped me show who I am. I feel like myself again."

"Real Valladolid have to go to every ground to win, especially today for the coach. We put a lot of energy into it. We should be happy with the display, but the point feels like too little."
