Juventus recorded a narrow 2-1 victory over champions Roma to make a real statement in the Serie A Femminile title race. Elsewhere, Inter squeezed past Como to continue their impressive start to the season. Here, we will round up all the action from all five games that took place on matchday six of the Serie A Femminile season.

Sassuolo 1-3 Fiorentina

Sassuolo slumped to a fourth consecutive defeat in Saturday’s home clash with Fiorentina. Following Gina Chmielinski’s eight-minute effort, the hosts took a slender lead into the break. The former Napoli player lifted a bouncing ball over Cecilie Fiskerstrand to find the net for the second game in a row. Sassuolo’s lead lasted until the 56th minute when Agnese Bonfantini drove a low shot past Solène Durand.

With momentum in their favour, Fiorentina quickly completed the turnaround through Emma Severini. The 21-year-old tapped home from close range to put the visitors in the driving seat. Verónica Boquete then kept her composure from the penalty spot to wrap up all three points. While Fiorentina finished the weekend in second spot, Sassuolo remain rooted to the bottom of the Serie A Femminile table.

Como 0-1 Inter

Inter maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a narrow away win over Como. Michela Cambiaghi required just 12 minutes to break the deadlock in Saturday’s fixture. The Inter forward showed great determination against the Como backline to prod the ball past Astrid Gilardi. The visitors held firm for the remainder of the contest to claim their fourth league win of the season.

AC Milan 1-0 Sampdoria

Milan’s home clash with Sampdoria remained goalless until Evelyn Ijeh found the breakthrough in the 71st minute.  The 23-year-old collected Silvia Rubio’s neat pass, before she drilled a clinical left-foot shot out of Amanda Tampieri’s reach. Ijeh’s second league goal of the season proved enough to secure a third consecutive victory. The win moved Milan above Roma and into fourth position. As for Sampdoria, they are languishing down in ninth position.

Juventus 2-1 Roma

Juventus maintained their 100% start to the season with an impressive victory in Sunday’s clash at the Allianz Stadium. In the 13th minute, Barbara Bonansea collected Estelle Cascarino’s diagonal ball, before firing a low shot past Camelia Ceasar. The Roma goalkeeper then did her utmost to stop Juventus from doubling their advantage before the break. However, her save to keep out Cristiana Girelli proved to be in vain as Sofia Cantore pounced to tuck home the rebound.

Roma substitute Benedetta Glionna produced a precise finish to pull a goal back in stoppage time. However, it ultimately proved to be too little too late as Roma slumped to a narrow defeat. As a result, the reigning champions are in fifth place and nine points adrift of leaders Juventus.

Lazio 0-0 Napoli

Lazio had to settle for a point despite dominating Sunday’s home meeting with Napoli. The hosts enjoyed 67% possession and racked up 20 hosts, including five efforts on target. However, they were unable to break through Napoli’s stubborn resistance. The visitors may have struggled to offer an attacking threat, but they would have been pleased to avoid a third consecutive clean sheet.
