Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal, without a doubt, is one of the best young footballers across the globe currently.

Just 17 years old, the Spanish international has the world at his feet and is bound to scale greater heights as time goes.

However, of late, there has been a lot of discourse around Lamine’s lack of goals as he is going through a bit of a drought in La Liga.

Indeed, the youngster has not scored in the league since October, while his last goal across all competitions came a month ago in the Copa del Rey.

Francesco Totti criticises Lamine’s lack of goals

Former AS Roma captain and Serie A legend Francesco Totti has now taken aim at Lamine and his lack of goals.

In a recent interview (h/t MARCA), the former Italy international claimed that the Barcelona teenage sensation is a very good player but does not score enough goals.

“He scores very few goals still. He is very strong, he flew at the European Championship,” said Totti.

“He looked like he was flying, then he went down a bit, he’s very good, but he still scores few goals,” the Italian legend added.

Despite all the talk surrounding Yamal’s recent goal drought, it must be remembered that he has already found the back of the net 11 times this season for Barcelona – and that he is just 17 years old.

Furthermore, the youngster’s value and importance on the field for Barcelona stretches far beyond his goals – something that manager Hansi Flick has pointed out in the recent past.
