Roma closed in on the title with a narrow 1-0 victory over reigning champions Juventus on Serie A match-day 19. The leaders maintained their six-point advantage over second-placed Inter with just three games left to play in the 2025/26 campaign.

At the opposite end of the table, Genoa slipped closer to relegation following a 2-1 defeat at home to Inter.

Here’s how all the action unfolded on a crucial match day in the Italian top flight.

Roma see off Serie A champions Juventus

Roma edged out Juventus in a close-fought contest between two giants of Italian football.

Giulia Dragoni scored the decisive goal in the 59th minute, not long after Juventus had a goal chalked off for a foul. The attacker collected Evelyne Viens’s pass and managed to lift it over goalkeeper Larissa Rusek before prodding it over the line. Roma ultimately stood firm to claim their 14th league win of the season, leaving them on the brink of the top prize.

Inter complete turnaround victory

Inter look set to experience disappointment in the title race, but they tightened their grip on second spot with a 2-1 win over basement side Genoa. The Nerazzurre were dealt an early setback when Birta Georgsdóttir headed in from a near-post corner in the 15th minute.

Trailing at the break, Inter staged a second half turnaround through two corners of their own. Marija Milinković hooked the ball home from Lina Magull’s out-swinging corner, before the defender was left free to fire home a rebound after Camilla Forcinella had pulled off a fine reaction stop from Elisa Polli’s header.

Sassuolo, Parma boost survival hopes

Lazio’s top three hopes suffered a major blow in Saturday’s 3-0 loss to Sassuolo. Lana Clelland started the scoring when she calmly dispatched an early penalty. Naomi Eto added a second in the closing stages of the first period, before Kassandra Missipo rounded off the scoring midweek through the second half.

Lazio Martina Piemonte was later sent off for sarcastically clapping towards the referee after receiving an initial yellow card. While the red card compounded Lazio’s miserable day, Sassuolo celebrated a win that moved them seven points clear of the drop.

Como’s Nadine Nischler broke the deadlock in the 68th minute of Saturday’s home clash with Parma. The forward raced onto a bouncing through ball before calmly lifting it over Camelia Ceasar. The visitors soon hit back through Manon Uffren, who fired a left-foot shot out of Astrid Gilardi’s reach. As a result of the draw, eighth-placed Como are now six points adrift of the top three, while Parma have moved seven points clear of the drop.

Fiorentina salvage point on Serie A match day 19

Elsewhere, Fiorentina fought from two goals down to salvage a point from their recent outing against Ternana, who stormed into a two-goal lead inside 12 minutes. Valeria Pirone opened the scoring inside five minutes, before Alice Regazzoli steered home a second following a goalmouth scramble.

Crucially for Fiorentina, Maya Cherubini halved the deficit on the stroke of half-time, glancing the ball in from Sofie Bredgaard’s near-post corner. The Dane then delivered another corner for Maria Luisa Filangeri to power a header home just after the hour mark.

AC Milan and Napoli share spoils in stalemate

Milan and Napoli had to settle for a point apiece in an evenly contested fixture on match day 19. The hosts registered three shots on target, while Napoli hit the target on four occasions as the two top three hopefuls drew a blank. The result leaves Milan and Napoli three and two points adrift of Juventus, respectively.

Did you know?

AC Milan have recorded clean sheets in each of their last four outings. Their last two home games have produced goalless draws and their previous two away outings have yielded victories without conceding against Juventus and Sassuolo.
