Sevilla are working on a deal for Diego Conde to reinforce their goal, but Villarreal’s price is stalling progress and competition is building.

Sevilla have made initial contact to gauge the Villarreal keeper’s availability. According to Muchodeporte, they have signalled genuine interest to the 27-year-old’s camp, aiming to add him before pre-season starts on three July.

Talks are complicated, with Villarreal valuing the player at between one and a half and two million euros. Sevilla are trying to renegotiate to protect their salary cap, and the lack of immediate liquidity has slowed the move. The option of Odysseas Vlachodimos remains, although his salary and the fee Newcastle would seek are significant hurdles.

New bidders are emerging. RC Deportivo de La Coruña have lodged the first firm proposals to tempt Conde, forcing Sevilla to move quickly if they wish to secure him.

From Türkiye, CNN TÜRK Spor reports Getafe hold strong interest in Batista Mendy, who was on loan at Sevilla and is owned by Trabzonspor. Trabzonspor have, in turn, shown firm interest in Sevilla attacker Rubén Vargas, valued at a minimum of twelve million euros.

A sale of Vargas would break the current impasse and could provide the funds to complete Conde and Adrián Liso, with Real Zaragoza seeking three million euros.
