Sevilla have signed Odysseas Vlachodimos.

The goalkeeper moving on loan for the season to La Liga.

A major overhaul of goalkeepers at Newcastle United, with Odysseas Vlachodimos and Martin Dubravka moving out, whilst Aaron Ramsdale has come in.

‘The Greek goalkeeper becomes our third signing of the summer

An agreement has been reached with Newcastle United for the season-long loan of Greek goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos with the 31-year-old becoming our third arrival of the summer.

Born in Stuttgart in 1994, but holding Greek nationality, he began his career with VFB Stuttgart for whom he made his Bundesliga debut in 2015, before going on to play for Panathinaikos FC for three seasons.

In 2018 he made the move to SL Benfica where he played for six seasons making a total of 225 appearances, 32 of them in the Champions League and 12 in the Europa League, winning two league titles and two Portuguese Super Cups.

In 2023 Odysseas he signed for Premier League side Nottingham Forest, making five appearances in his first season. In the summer of 2024, he moved to Newcastle United where he made his debut in the EFL Cup.
