Sevilla’s summer rebuild is unfolding amid institutional uncertainty, but Alberto Reina has emerged as a consensus target for the midfield and is considered a done deal in Asturias.

RTPA reports that an agreement for the Real Oviedo midfielder is in place, valued at around two to three million euros. The report adds that Oviedo’s relegation has been decisive in accelerating his exit.

The Chiclana-born player came through Real Betis’s academy, then featured for CD Alcalá, AD Ceuta and UD Las Palmas Atlético before impressing at CD Mirandés. He joined Real Oviedo and has just completed a strong top-flight debut, with 38 appearances, four goals and three assists.

Even so, caution remains. Sevilla are still seeking a new leader after the confirmed departure of Antonio Cordón, who had worked on Reina’s arrival in recent months. Reina is represented by the agency led by René Ramos, brother of Sergio Ramos and a key figure in talks over the club’s imminent change of ownership.

Cordón’s final acts included free transfers for Juan Iglesias and Arouna Sangante. Once new owners are confirmed, Sevilla are expected to push on with squad planning, with Reina now central to the discussion.
