Eberechi Eze has emerged as one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League, attracting interest from some of the division’s biggest clubs, including Arsenal. The versatile attacker has enjoyed a significant rise in influence for both club and country in recent months, helping Crystal Palace to secure two trophies in the last four months.
Eze, who previously spent time at Arsenal as a schoolboy, is reportedly open to leaving Selhurst Park and would welcome the opportunity to return to the Emirates. However, competition for his signature is fierce, with Tottenham also firmly in the race and expected to challenge Arsenal in the coming days.
While Mikel Arteta’s side admire the Crystal Palace star, their heavy summer spending means that any serious move will likely depend on player sales. Arsenal already have several options capable of playing in Eze’s role, and the club may only proceed with a formal approach if space in the squad is created through departures.
This financial and strategic balancing act could give Tottenham an opportunity to steal a march on its rivals. The Lilywhites have shown strong interest, and their willingness to invest heavily in attacking reinforcements could make them a serious contender for Eze’s services.

Speaking about the situation, Alan Shearer told Mirror Football:
“What I do know is Eberechi Eze is a very, very good player. We saw that last season and in the Community Shield at the weekend. It’s very much like every other transfer – if someone coughs up enough dough then he’ll go.”
Shearer’s remarks underline the reality of the modern transfer market, where player loyalty is often outweighed by significant financial offers. With both Arsenal and Tottenham potentially prepared to make sizeable bids, the deciding factor may simply be which club meets Crystal Palace’s demands first.
Tottenham’s involvement is also expected to influence Palace’s negotiating stance. Reports indicate that the South London club will insist on a large portion of Eze’s release clause being paid upfront, ensuring they are compensated appropriately for losing one of their key assets.
If Arsenal are to bring Eze back to North London, they will need to act decisively and ensure they have the financial flexibility to meet those terms before their rivals do.
