Sheffield United should be casting their eye over a Premier League loanee, who could take them to the next level in the Championship next season.

It's fair to say that it wasn't the season that many Sheffield United fans would have originally had in mind, with the Blades struggling to build any sort of momentum for much of the year.

The Blades made a dismal start to the 2025/26 league campaign under the management of Ruben Selles, which eventually saw the Spaniard relieved of his duties in charge of the former Premier League side.

Chris Wilder returned to Bramall Lane and guided Sheffield United out of the Championship relegation zone, but couldn't quite force them into the top-half of the table, as they finished 13th in the second-tier standings.

It means that Wilder's side are set for another season in the Championship, which could mean it's the ideal opportunity to get some fresh faces through the door.

It'll be an interesting summer ahead at Sheffield United, as reinforcements are needed in certain areas of the squad, especially with loanees returning to their parent clubs, and players reaching the end of their contracts this month.

Wilder should target Amario Cozier-Duberry

One player that seems as though he'd be more than capable of making the step into the Championship is Brighton & Hove Albion winger, Amario Cozier-Duberry.

The winger spent the 2025/26 season out on loan with Bolton Wanderers, who won promotion via the League One play-offs, as they beat Stockport County in the final at Wembley in May.

There won't have been much known about Cozier-Duberry when he first signed for the Trotters, but he certainly made a name for himself for all the right reasons.

The 21-year-old scored ten goals, and was on hand to provide 13 assists for Bolton this season, and it seems a tough ask for Steven Schumacher's side to keep hold of him for another season on loan.

Brighton & Hove Albion will decide the best option for him this summer, but it wouldn't be too surprising if they were to look at sending him to a club that is likely to be challenging for promotion into the Premier League, and Sheffield United are likely to fit that description.

Blades switch would be ideal for all parties

Cozier-Duberry was the standout player in League One last year, and he played a starring role for Bolton in their promotion-winning season, and he's clearly destined for Premier League football in the future.

If the winger was to head to Bramall Lane with Sheffield United, then it could be the ideal move for all parties involved, as the Blades could benefit from signing a player of his quality. The player would want to prove himself at a high level, and Brighton would be keen to find him regular minutes, which Sheffield United are likely to be able to provide him.

Chris Wilder already has some strong options in wide areas, with Callum O'Hare and Tahith Chong in their ranks. However, Cozier-Duberry offers pace and trickery on the ball, which is something that Sheffield United lack at times.

It would show that they mean business, and the likes of Tyrese Campbell and Tom Cannon could certainly benefit from having a player of his creative ability in their team for the upcoming Championship campaign.

He's going to be a player attracting significant interest from other clubs though, so the Blades shouldn't waste any time in making an effort to land his signature on a temporary basis this summer.
