FLW's Sheffield United fan pundit has given his reaction to reports that the club are monitoring Leicester City loanee Jordan James.
It is set to be an important summer for Sheffield United after a disappointing season in the Championship.
After a nightmare start to the season under Ruben Selles, Sheffield United began to climb the Championship table after Chris Wilder's return for a third spell in charge in September, prompting talk of a possible play-off push among the Bramall Lane faithful.
However, the Blades can no longer mathematically reach the top six after an inconsistent second half of the campaign, and Wilder recently warned his players that there will be "a lot of changes" to the squad this summer.
While the start of the summer transfer window is still more than a month away, it seems United are wasting no time in identifying potential targets, and according to The Star, Rennes midfielder Jordan James has "big admirers" among the club's coaching staff.
James has spent this season on loan at Leicester City, and while he was unable to prevent the Foxes' relegation from the Championship, he has enjoyed an impressive individual campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists, with his performances earning him the division's Young Player of the Season award.
With a permanent move to the King Power Stadium looking unlikely, it was recently claimed that one English club has already made contact with Rennes about the possibility of signing James this summer, and while that is not the Blades, it seems they are weighing up a move of their own for the 21-year-old.

When asked for his reaction to the club's reported interest in James, FLW's Sheffield United fan pundit Jimmy, from the YouTube channel Blades Ramble, insisted that he would welcome the Welsh international to Bramall Lane this summer, particularly if Sydie Peck departs, but he admitted he cannot see him in a Blades shirt next season.
"Now we're talking. Yes, Jordan James would be a really good signing for us," Jimmy told FLW.
"I have to say, I would be surprised if we win the race for Jordan James.
"It won't be an area that we're particularly desperate to improve on.
"There are lots of variables this summer, we could lose Sydie Peck, and then we have to go and improve in that area.
"There's so much work for us to do, and we haven't got a lot of wiggle room.
"If he's available on loan again, I would be all over it because I think he's been a shining light in a very poor Leicester side, but, I have to say, I don't think that position particularly will be top of the list, so we'll wait and see.

While James has been part of a Leicester side that has underachieved spectacularly, it is difficult to attach any blame to him for the Foxes' relegation, and he has done more than enough to earn himself another Championship move this summer.
There is no doubt that James would be an outstanding signing for most clubs in the division, but Sheffield United could certainly benefit from adding more goals to their midfield, particularly if they were to lose Gus Hamer over the coming months.
With their parachute payments coming to an end, it is unclear what level of budget the Blades will be operating with this summer, but if they are able to spend, James would be an excellent investment and a clear indication of the club's ambitions for next season.
