FLW's Sheffield Wednesday Fan Pundit has weighed in on Murphy Cooper's future with the Owls after a strong start to his loan spell.
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more…
Sheffield Wednesday's stay in the Championship is nearing an end, and in just a matter of weeks, the club could find themselves relegated to League One with over two months of the campaign still to go.
Rooted to the bottom of the table, the Owls have found life in administration incredibly difficult. They lost key players such as Barry Bannan and Bailey Cadamarteri in the January transfer window, while the hunt for a new owner continues.
Injuries have also been a major problem for the South Yorkshire outfit, with Pierce Charles in particular being hit by several issues which has left Henrik Pedersen with significant selection headaches, and has seen temporary replacements brought in.
The latest of those is Murphy Cooper, who spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Barnsley from QPR. He joined Sheffield Wednesday in January, and after a positive start, there will be those in S6 wondering if a permanent deal could be secured.
The Owls have had to put their faith in a goalkeeper with extremely limited experience at Championship level, and while their results have not improved, he has shown a strong level of promise in his first few weeks at Hillsborough.
His performances have not gone unnoticed by supporters, and Football League World's Sheffield Wednesday Fan Pundit, Patrick McKenna, would like to see the 24-year-old signed permanently this summer.

McKenna told FLW: "Murphy Cooper has certainly stepped up to the plate so far in his short stint at Wednesday. I have been impressed with his shot-stopping. There have been some standout saves.
"It really isn't an easy job being between the sticks for us this season.
"So, I'm sure he is happy that he is getting the game time at Hillsborough, and I think it would be a good move if we could maybe work out something for next season because there is a massive, massive rebuild on our hands."
Patrick continued: "So, if we can almost start to begin it now by identifying players we’d possibly like next season because Pierce Charles most likely isn't going to be playing in League One next season once he recovers from his injury.
"Forward-thinking is needed, and I'd be happy with Murphy Cooper, and certainly I would have no reservations about him doing a job for us next season."
The Owls remain in administration, and with their relegation to League One all but confirmed, Pedersen does at least know which division his side will be starting next season in if a buyer is found.
Therefore, it is vital that these next few weeks and months are used to carefully construct a plan ready for the third tier, with it likely that a major squad overhaul will be needed.

Cooper could be a really shrewd addition for Sheffield Wednesday, with it unlikely that he will break through into the first-team picture at QPR any time soon.
If his performances continue in this manner, then the Owls have to make a move for him as soon as they possibly can, and fix a problem that looks likely to emerge in the summer, with Charles likely to be of interest once more to clubs with more money and in better leagues.
