Shelbourne FC are delighted to announce Kevin Kiely as Head of Individual Development in the Men’s Academy. | OneFootball

This appointment represents another important step forward for the Reds Academy as the club continues to strengthen the development pathway for young players progressing through the age groups towards the senior team.

Kevin previously worked with Shelbourne’s U17 and U20 squads and brings a strong understanding of the club’s ethos, along with extensive coaching experience. In his new role, he will focus on the individual development of players across the academy.

Academy Director Colm Barron welcomed the appointment:

“We are delighted to appoint Kevin as Head of Individual Development in the men’s academy. Having previously worked with our U17 and U20 squads, Kevin already has a deep understanding of our academy philosophy and the quality he brings to the pitch from a coaching perspective.

He will work closely with myself in supporting the individual development of our young players.”

Technical Director Luke Byrne also spoke about the importance of the role:

“The introduction of a Head of Individual Development to our academy staff is another exciting and important step for the club. Player development is at the heart of everything we do, and Kevin will play a big role in the technical and tactical progression of our young players.

He is a brilliant coach who thinks about the game in great detail, and our players will really enjoy working with him.”
