The 19-year-old goalkeeper has completed a season-long loan move to third-division club FC Ingolstadt 04.

Simon Simoni joined Eintracht from Albanian second-tier side FK Dinamo in the 2022/23 winter transfer window. Since then, he has played eight games in the LOTTO Hessenliga as well as 14 in the Regionalliga Southwest, keeping nine clean sheets in the process.

The Albanian U21 international, who gained first-team experience at a young age in his homeland and has been a permanent part of Jan Zimmermann’s goalkeeping group in first-team training at Eintracht, was included in the Eagles’ matchday squad for the first time in the Bundesliga home game against VfL Bochum last season.

Simoni will spend the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Ingolstadt in the 3. Liga.

“By training at the highest level and gaining match practice in the U21s, Simon Simoni has taken the next steps with us and we remain convinced of his potential,” said sporting director Timmo Hardung. “With the loan move to Ingolstadt, we want to give him the opportunity to further advance his development by gaining experience at the next level.”
