Manchester United are reportedly hellbent on signing Paris Saint-Germain outcast Randal Kolo Muani this winter.

With Marcus Rashford likely heading towards the exit door after being repeatedly dropped by Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils will need an attacking reinforcement in January. Even their remaining options Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have been misfiring this season, leaving the team starving for goals.

In recent weeks, the Premier League giants have been linked with several potential candidates for the role, including Amorim’s old Sporting CP disciple Vikotor Gyokeres and Napoli bomber Victor Osimhen (currently on loan at Galatasaray).

Nevertheless, Kolo Muani’s candidacy hasn’t faded away, as he could be the most attainable option in January after falling out of favour with Luis Enrique who has completely omitted him from his plans at PSG.

So according to Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Man Utd are now making concrete steps in their attempts to lure the France international to Old Trafford. The source insists that United are ‘determined to do everything possible’ to land the 26-year-old this winter.

The Red Devils will try to sign the striker on an initial loan deal while hoping to insert an option to buy, which would be their ideal scenario. Nevertheless, the journalist warns the club of the stern competition for Kolo Muani’s services, as Chelsea, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Juventus, AC Milan, and others are all tracking the wantaway star.

The France international rose to fame during his time at Nantes, and was then poached by Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer in 2022. The German side made a massive windfall by selling him to PSG for a whopping €95 million a year later, but the striker never truly flourished at Le Parc des Princes.
