According to L'Équipe, UEFA has appointed Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic to oversee Chelsea v PSG on Tuesday in the Champions League round of 16 second leg.
The 46-year-old took charge of the 2024 Champions League final, Dortmund 0-2 Real Madrid at Wembley. This will be his first Chelsea v PSG assignment, although he has handled several PSG ties against English opposition.
Last season he refereed twice at the Emirates, Arsenal winning 2-0 on matchday two of the league phase before Luis Enrique’s side claimed a 1-0 semi-final first-leg victory.
This season he officiated PSG’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle on matchday eight at the Parc des Princes, where he awarded the hosts a penalty.
Vincic has refereed Chelsea four times, all wins for the Blues. The most recent came in the Club World Cup last 16 against Benfica, a 4-1 after extra time victory in which he awarded a penalty to the Portuguese side. Three of those Chelsea victories were by three goals, including a 3-0 league-phase win over Barcelona last season, a similar margin on Tuesday would allow them to cut their 2-5 first-leg deficit from the Parc des Princes.
